Overview
Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing, Ltd. (HTM) is a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (HCM) which produces and sells world-class products for the mining and the construction industries. HTM is a manufacturing company that builds and supplies various size rigid dump trucks from 280 to 320 tons payload to HCM. HTM also supplies spare parts for HCM’s dealer network. HTM’s operation center is located in Guelph, Ontario.
Duties:
· 421A college certificate or similar education is considered an asset.
· Welding experience is considered an asset.
· Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints
· Demonstrated mechanical and technical ability
· Proven working knowledge of electrical systems
· Willingness to accept new challenges and participate in training programs as required to improve skills
· Work under minimum supervision and as a team member
· Able to work in imperial and metric units of measure
· Proven problem-solving capabilities
· Demonstrated verbal and written communications
· Good knowledge of 5’S Techniques
Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery operation
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce inefficiencies
The rate is $33.71 per hour (after probation is completed successfully during probation this rate is 10% less) this position is a unionized position with Unifor Local 1917.
