Job Summary
West Bay Mechanical is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Journeyman Plumber / Plumbing Foreman to lead plumbing installations on a major commercial project in Victoria, BC. The successful candidate will be capable of independently running a project from start to finish, coordinating with site supervision and other trades, managing apprentices, maintaining productivity, and ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.
This position is ideal for a Journeyman who takes pride in leadership, organization, and delivering quality work while maintaining project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all plumbing activities on-site.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Plan daily and weekly work activities to meet project schedules.
- Supervise and mentor apprentices and other field staff.
- Coordinate with project managers, site superintendents, and other trades.
- Install, test, and commission plumbing systems in accordance with applicable codes and project requirements.
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively.
- Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and proper documentation.
- Track material requirements and assist with procurement planning.
- Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyman Plumber certification.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial plumbing experience.
- Previous foreman or lead-hand experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, construction practices, and BC Plumbing Code requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage a project with minimal supervision.
- Experience coordinating apprentices and subcontractors.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Pay: $38.55-$55.00 per hour
