This position works in the Facilities Asset Management organizational unit. This is technical and administrative work that involves coordinating the facilities asset management program by collecting, tracking and maintaining lifecycle data for all municipal building and support plant structures. An incumbent maintains, updates, and ensures for the alignment of departmental records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and asset management and capital planning software related to municipal building and support plant structures; performs data entry, validation, and migration to ensure data integrity; conducts asset tagging, scanning and inspection to ensure alignment between physical assets and digital records; prepares data analyses and reports to support departmental planning; develops and maintains related technical documentation; and assists in developing and implementing standards and procedures to support the maintenance, renewal and replacement of building and support plant structures. An incumbent exercises considerable independent judgement and action within established guidelines, with the more complex or unusual problems discussed with a supervisor who reviews work performance in terms of the effectiveness of services rendered and the attainment of desired objectives. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include the completion of a Diploma in building technology or other relevant field, plus sound related experience using asset management and maintenance systems to support lifecycle planning; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Considerable knowledge of asset management systems, procedures and standards, including asset lifecycle and condition assessment method. Considerable knowledge of construction and costing methods, processes, and materials applicable to building or plant equipment installation, maintenance, and renovation. Sound Knowledge of the capabilities and use of computerized maintenance management and asset management systems to manage asset tracking, inspections and work history. Sound knowledge of capital planning software (such as CMMS, SAP and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel) as applicable to the work performed. Experience using Microsoft SharePoint and Power BI is desirable. The ability to review and interpret technical drawings specifications (using Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD or similar software would be considered an asset), along with plans, contracts, and other materials. A valid Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
