Brink Forest Products is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Superintendent to oversee production operations at our Prince George Fingerjoint facility. This is a key leadership role within the Brink Group team, responsible for driving production performance, safety, quality, and operational efficiency throughout the mill.
The Production Superintendent will be accountable for achieving production targets, supporting and developing supervisory staff, and ensuring day-to-day operations run efficiently and safely. This is a highly hands-on leadership role, with significant time spent on the production floor actively supporting teams, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty when needed.
The position reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical role in supporting the continued success and growth of our Prince George operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of all production operations within the mill.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently achieved.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture throughout the operation.
- Work closely with supervisors and management to coordinate staffing, scheduling, and workflow.
- Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Monitor production performance and take proactive measures to maximize productivity and recovery.
- Support, mentor, and develop supervisory staff while fostering accountability and leadership growth.
- Maintain clear communication with Senior Management regarding production performance, staffing requirements, and operational needs.
- Assist with planning, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
- Lead by example and maintain a visible presence on the production floor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, Fingjoint mill experience is an asset
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of sawmill production processes, workflow management, and quality control.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive operational performance.
- Solid knowledge of workplace safety regulations and experience promoting a safety-conscious culture.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to work directly alongside operations personnel when required.
- Experience with production planning, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
Compensation:
- Annual salary of $95,000 - $110,000, based on experience and qualifications.
