The Vancouver branch of a global mineral exploration company, located in the heart of downtown, is seeking a Accountant. We are looking for an Accountant who enjoys hands-on AP/AR work and supporting a busy accounting department. In this role, you’ll handle payments, reporting, and tax-related tasks while assisting the Accounting Manager with daily and period-end activities.

Vacation: 11 days in the first year, 16 days in the second year, and up to 22 days based on years of service.
Main Job duties:
- Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, including reviewing invoices, verifying vendors, and completing payments.
- Reconcile corporate credit card transactions, pre‑authorized payments, and employee expense reimbursements.
- Record AP, AR, payments, accruals, and adjusting journal entries accurately in the ERP system.
- Prepare invoices and create related financial reports for analysis and audits.
- Prepare GST and QST returns for manager review, filing, payment, and follow‑up.
- Compile working papers and filing documents for withholding tax, NR4, T4A‑NR, and other required tax submissions.
- Complete AP/AR journal entries prior to monthly closing.
- Assist managers with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation and audit support.
- Support payroll‑related tax filings and prepare taxable benefit calculation working papers for expatriate employees.
- Maintain corporate documents and records and perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager and Vice President.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of Accounts Payable (AP) experience in Canada
- Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Japanese language an asset
- University or college degree
- Knowledge of clerical procedures, basic mathematics, and accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage preferred), Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time‑management
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, work under pressure, and maintain confidentiality
