Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Grocery Manager to oversee daily store operations and ensure an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, retail management expertise, and excellent communication abilities. This role involves managing staff, merchandising, inventory purchasing, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Bilingual skills and prior supervisory experience are highly valued to support diverse customer needs and team development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the grocery department team, including recruiting, training, and developing staff to meet performance standards.
- Oversee store merchandising, pricing strategies, and product placement to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
- Manage inventory purchasing, stock levels, and supplier negotiations to ensure product availability while controlling costs.
- Handle POS transactions, cash handling, and bookkeeping duties accurately and efficiently.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and promotional activities to increase store traffic and revenue.
- Monitor sales performance, prepare reports, and manage budgets to meet financial goals.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, store policies, and quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Oversee store operations including cashiering, pricing adjustments, inventory management, and store cleanliness.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment.
Skills
- Proven leadership with supervising experience in retail or grocery settings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and multilingual capabilities preferred for diverse customer engagement.
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills for accurate transactions.
- Experience in merchandising, pricing strategies, sales management, marketing, and store management.
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors effectively.
- Skilled in recruiting, training & development of staff, team management, and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of budgeting, payroll processing, administrative tasks, and time management.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with professional phone etiquette. This position offers an opportunity to lead a vibrant grocery store team while contributing to the overall success of the business through strategic management and excellent service delivery.
Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
