The Municipality of Bluewater is seeking full-time Seasonal Equipment Operators to join our Public Works Department. These positions play a vital role in maintaining municipal infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on winter control operations and road maintenance to ensure the safety of our community.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed outdoors with frequent exposure to hazards and inclement weather, including blizzards, whiteouts, and ice storms. The position requires availability to respond to emergencies and snow events, including overtime and on-call hours as required. The approximate season runs from November to April.
Hours of Work:
Evening, early morning, weekend, and on-call work may be required based on operation needs.
Requirements:
- Secondary school graduate or equivalent
- Heavy equipment operation experience (e.g., trucks, graders, loaders, backhoes)
- Criminal Record Check satisfactory to the Municipality
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Working at Heights, and Confined Space Entry
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Assets:
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in construction or municipal road works
- Valid DZ driver’s license and clear Driver’s Abstract
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
