Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated educator to teach high school mathematics courses in strict alignment with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the current Ontario math curriculum—including recent de-streaming adjustments—and a proven track record of helping students succeed in both foundational and senior-level math courses
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with IB and OSSD curriculum standards for high school mathematics courses.
- Instruction: Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction for OSSD high school math courses (including MTH1W, MPM2D, MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U, and MDM4U).
- Curriculum Alignment: Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations that align with Ontario Ministry of Education standards.
- Student Success: Track student progress toward OSSD credit requirements and provide individualized support to address diverse learning styles.
- Standardized Prep: Prepare students effectively for the Grade 9 EQAO math assessment.
- Communication: Maintain regular, clear communication with administration and parents regarding student development and academic milestones.
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring high school or secondary level mathematics.
- Classroom experience teaching IB Mathematics and Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) courses is highly desirable.
- Certification: Must be a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
- Experience: Proven, hands-on experience teaching high school mathematics within the OSSD framework.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the Ontario Math Curriculum, Growing Success assessment guidelines, and current reporting standards.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, classroom management, and organizational abilities.
- Asset: Previous experience with academic enrichment programs, financial literacy integration, or academic competition preparation is highly desirable.
- Online Delivery: Effectively utilize virtual teaching technologies (e.g., Zoom, Google Workspace, digital whiteboards, and learning management systems) to deliver interactive and seamless online lesson
