Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in a small, privately-owned care home with 5 elderly residents. This role involves working closely with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness to promote their well-being, independence, and quality of life. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to make a positive impact through personalized care, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for all clients.
The individual hired for this role MUST be available to work Sundays (among other days). The remaining shifts can be flexible, but Sundays are non-negotiable for this position.
Duties
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring under supervision
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Support clients with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Support clients with dementia or hospice care by implementing specialized care plans
- Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams and family members
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia or hospice care is highly valued
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient safety standards is desirable
- Previous caregiving roles involving meal preparation, cleaning, and heavy lifting are advantageous
- Candidates should demonstrate patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy loads safely
- First Aid/CPR-C and a police clearance check will be required upon hire
