Elmastukwek Mawiomi Inc. (EMI) is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Summer Student Festival Organizer (Age 15-29) to support the planning and delivery of cultural initiatives through the summer, including our gathering festival from August 7-9. The Festival Organizer will receive team support from and report to the Events Coordinator and assist with the logistical planning, setup, and delivery of community and cultural activities.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Events Coordinator to assist with the logistical planning, setup, and execution of community and cultural events.
- Assist with preparing venues, supplies, equipment, signage, and event materials.
- Support event operations, including participant registration, welcoming guests, and general event logistics.
- Help coordinate and facilitate youth activities and community programming.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, organizing records, and data entry.
- Support communication with volunteers, community members, and partner organizations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organized, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable interacting with community members of all ages.
- Experience with event planning is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Mi'kmaw culture and Indigenous communities is considered an asset.
- Must be a student between the ages of 15 and 29 and legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Drivers License.
- Must meet all eligibility requirements of the applicable summer employment program.
Working Conditions
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support events and activities. (Especially the week of August 3rd-10th)
- Some lifting and physical setup and takedown of event equipment is required.
Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
