Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server to join Pigeon Cafe. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensure food safety and sanitation standards, and create a welcoming environment for all patrons. This role requires strong communication skills, efficiency in food and beverage service, and the ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining a positive attitude. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals eager to grow within the food industry.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Lightspeed POS, ensuring timely delivery of food and beverages
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest needs promptly and professionally
- Handle cash and process payments accurately through cashiering functions
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards are maintained at all times
- Assist in food preparation or kitchen duties as needed to support team operations
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations according to sanitation guidelines
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow
Experience
- Previous experience in food service,brunch restaurant, or hospitality industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Lightspeed POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and bill calculations
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with serving, upselling, cashiering, and guest services enhances performance but is not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $16.10-$27.39 per hour
