QTK is looking for a dedicated, responsible Purchasing/Inventory Clerk to join our established company. This position will report directly to the General Manager.
Prior experience working in Millwork, furniture or Custom Kitchen Cabinetry industries is required
Key Responsibilities
· Purchase goods and services that meet quality, specification, and delivery requirements at the optimal cost for the company, while concurrently maintaining and building strategic relationships with key suppliers
· Obtains quotations from approved and competitive sources, by negotiating the best possible price to meet required budget
· Optimize the replenishment process through MRP and visual inventory management to identify reorder points and maintain required inventory levels and meeting daily operations. Assist with cycle counts and complete inventory discrepancy analysis as required
· Complete Cycle and Year end Inventory Counts
· Assist the Receiving Clerk in reconciling inventory and answer any questions
· Track and manage the process from order to delivery and communicate with suppliers for delivery issues, damages, price and other related discrepancies. Assist AP Clerk with any questions
· Obtain approvals for new supplier setups
· Ensures that suppliers follow Supplier guidelines and standards
· Process purchase orders according to purchasing policies and procedures. Clearly define order requirements and list out terms and conditions on the purchase orders
· Approve purchase receipts in ERP system
· Maintain vendor database and track vendor performance against established metrics by monitoring delivery performance and provide summary analysis quarterly.
· Ensures on-time arrival of purchased goods and materials
· Communicates and follow up on late or missed deliveries and establish recovery plans if necessary
· Purchases miscellaneous items
· Assist in any other areas as required and directed by Manager
Qualifications
· Superior Lanugage Skills - Proficient in speaking English
· Post-secondary education in Business, Materials Management or related field.
· Minimum two years equivalent experience in purchasing and/or production planning/inventory control.
· Flexible/Adaptable
This is a hands-on role, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and demonstrates a strong work ethic.
