Overview
Canadian Grounds is seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Foreman to join our growing team in Etobicoke, Ontario. This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced outdoor environment, takes pride in delivering high-quality work, and can effectively lead crews on commercial landscape construction and property maintenance projects.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on landscape experience, and the ability to manage crews, equipment, materials, and job site productivity while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
Job Details
- Location: Etobicoke, ON
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Wage: $36.30–$38.46 per hour (to be negotiated)
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, on-call, and flexible hours
- Start Date: As soon as possible
Responsibilities
- Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers who maintain lawns, gardens, athletic fields, golf courses, cemeteries, parks, interior plantscapes and other landscaped areas
- Plan and estimate the materials and labour requirements for individual contracts
- Organize the planting and maintenance of trees, gardens, lawns, shrubs, and hedges and the construction and installation of walkways.
- Establish work schedules and procedures and co-ordinate activities with other work units
- Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports
- Requisition supplies and materials
- Maintain financial and personnel records
- Assist with hiring staff and train workers in job duties and company policies
- Provide snow removal services during winter months
- May perform the same duties as workers supervised.
Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of landscape construction or related supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of commercial landscape practices and job site operations
- Ability to read and interpret landscape drawings and grading plans
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, and other landscape equipment is considered an asset
- Valid G Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, lift, and perform manual labour as required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of a team
