Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscaping Lead Hand to oversee and execute a variety of outdoor maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical knowledge in horticulture and landscape maintenance, and the ability to supervise a team. This role involves hands-on work in tree & stump removal, landscape design, sod laying, gardening & other landscaping construction, ensuring high standards of landscape aesthetics and functionality. The Landscaping Lead Hand will play a key role in coordinating daily operations, mentoring team members, and delivering exceptional outdoor environments for clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of landscaping workers to complete projects efficiently and to client specifications
- Assist with tasks such as tree & stump removals, grading, planting, mulching, and soil preparation
- Coordinate construction activities related to landscape installation or renovation projects
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations and maintain a safe work environment
- Schedule daily work plans, monitor progress, and adjust assignments to meet deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition and arrange for repairs when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture, or related fields
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Skilled in gardening practices including planting, pruning, and soil management
- Construction experience related to landscape installation or hardscaping projects is preferred
- Leadership qualities with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Knowledge of industry best practices for landscape care and project management
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
