Our Telecommunications Team is looking for competent, dedicated construction laborer's, to support our OSP projects in Calgary AB and surrounding areas. A valid Class 5 Driver's License is essential for this position. **Please note - Our employment opportunities do not offer immigration sponsorship**
SHIFT INFORMATION:
Full Time – 40 hrs/week Mon-Fri (Weekends when required to meet deadlines)
Up to 12 hour working days
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clearing of work area, preparation of tools and materials
Use of hand tools
Digging holes and trenches, installing HDPE/DB2 conduit, installing PEDS/Vaults
Pulling COAX and Fiber Optic cable, cable preparation and termination
Ability to Move and carry construction materials that may weigh in excess of 65 lbs
Basic interpretation of plans, diagrams, and locates
Work outdoors in various elements
Use of company vehicles/tools in safe and courteous manner
Communicate with team members on preparation and project coordination
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO SELETECH:
Minimum 1 year experience in a construction environment
HDPE and DB2 conduit placement and fitting experience
Previous experience with utilities, landscaping or concrete experience is an asset
Experience with Skid Steers, Mini Excavators and Civil Construction is an asset
Previous construction laborer experience within the telecom, shallow digging or pipeline will be considered an asset but not required
Willing to travel and work a scheduled shifts of 12-hour days
A safety-conscious, positive attitude, and excellent work ethic
Ability to work in a team environment
Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driving record
