Security Operations Centre Operator
Shift: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Security Operations Center in Waterloo ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
- Support the monitoring, collection and compilation of real time and near real time information through alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV, internal sources and reporting to identify issues which may impact the Client.
- Analyze identified issues and coordinate appropriate response based on established criteria.
- Disseminate findings to create a common operating picture and situational awareness to key stakeholders.
- Use established criteria to categorize and process low to medium complexity information of relevance to security risk.
- Disseminate information through verbal and written incident notifications and summary reports.
- Operationalize the retrieval and preparation of images and video for use by internal customers (investigations, fraud deterrence, etc.) and external partners - law enforcement agencies, in order to mitigate potential financial and reputational loss.
- Through the programming, monitoring and control of physical access control systems, ensure a safe and secure environment for staff in designated facilities while safeguarding the bank’s protected information and assets following established procedures.
- Conduct initial investigations of issues identified using applicable systems.
- Direct the appropriate response of security or other staff to respond to identified risks.
Functional Competencies
- College diploma and/or equivalent related experience preferred.
- Experience in critical incident management.
- Minimum 3 years experience with operating, and programming access control at multiple locations preferably with Kantech Enterprise software.
- Creating and programming access cards and ensuring they are shipped to assigned partners across the country.
- Minimum 2 years experience operating and programming Avigilon CCTV systems and software.
- Previous Use of Force training and experience as you will be required to respond to on site crisis incidents.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
