We are currently seeking a Drilling Foreperson to supervise and manage the daily operation of a long hole drilling program, and alternative daily extra work projects as requested from the client. The drilling contract is for down the hole drills with casing install, for long hole horizontal drain holes in open pit mine high walls.
This role requires technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in remote and challenging conditions.
This position also requires strong leadership / attention to detail and judgment as well as an exceptional ability to organize, plan, and anticipate potential adversity. The ideal candidate will have strong drilling experience (specifically HDH). Applicants with a thorough understanding of geotechnical stabilization as well as heavy equipment operation, ground support, or heavy-duty mechanics may be given preference.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize the daily operations and schedule manpower according to daily requirements.
- Line up crew to assigned tasks and tailboard meetings.
- Fill in daily site documentation i.e. Daily Progress Report (DPR), report drill log information, and safety documentation etc.
- Promoting open communications with client.
- Accountable for projects performances by monitoring schedules, daily cost analysis.
- Ability to identify risks and modify setup to control risk,
- Communicate daily with operations manager on site information.
- Ability to negotiate with client extra work as it become available.
Required Skills:
- Experienced in project supervision in drilling operations and/or ground stabilization.
- Ability to train and develop operational personnel.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills towards clients, the public and workforce.
- Possess a good working knowledge of applicable regulations, and strong safety awareness.
- Competent in Microsoft Office programs i.e. MS Word, Excel.
- Valid class 5 Drivers License or better.
Education & Experience:
- Grade 12 graduate, along with formal supervision training.
- 5 years of experience supervising drilling operations or geo-stabilization projects.
- Experience in mine operations supervision.
The rotation schedule and shift duration – 8 on 4 off
Travel details – Foreman will be assigned a truck for their rotation & travel to site at Highland Valley Copper (HVC)
The start date – As soon as possible
