Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Painter Helper to join our construction and restoration team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects. The ideal candidate will assist skilled painters with various tasks, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high standards. Prior experience in construction or related fields is a plus, but we welcome individuals eager to learn and grow within the industry.
Duties
- Assist with surface preparation including caulking, sanding, and masking to ensure a smooth painting surface
- Support painting operations by handling hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment safely and effectively
- Mix paints and other materials according to project specifications, including reading schematics and blueprints when necessary
- Help with the setup and breakdown of work sites, including scaffolding and ladders
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or applying primer as directed
- Assist with the application of paint on residential, commercial, or industrial structures under supervision
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
Experience
- Previous experience in construction, restoration, or related trades is advantageous but not required
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, or technical drawings is a plus
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, caulking techniques, carpentry skills, and rigging is beneficial
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential
- Good time management skills to help meet project deadlines efficiently
- Customer service experience is helpful when interacting with clients during residential or commercial projects
