Job description:
Evans Paralegal Services practice is based in London, Ontario. We pride ourselves on offering top-tier legal services and cultivating a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Represent landlords in legal matters.
- Handle collection matters diligently.
- Attend and present legal arguments during hearings.
- Docket time and maintain accurate records of hours spent on tasks.
- Draft and dispatch closing letters and update letters to clients and relevant parties.
- Adhere strictly to all dates and deadlines.
- Ensure proper service of documents.
- Manage and carry out the filing of legal documents and maintain organized case files.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Work directly with private investigators as required.
Minimum Requirements: Only candidates who meet the following minimum requirements will be contacted.
- A minimum of 6 months experience with representing Clients before the Tribunal, POA and Small Claims Court.
- Prior experience conducting hearings before an Ontario Board or Tribunal or prior experiencing conducting a hearing or motion before the Small Claims Court.
- Advance knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant Board Rules and Guidelines.
- Advanced knowledge of Collection Proceedings before the Small Claims Court.
- At least 1-year office experience.
- Fully licensed with the Law Society of Ontario to practice as a paralegal.
- Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment with minimal oversight.
- Notary Public certification is considered a significant asset.
- Must be able to commute to our office in London, Ontario.
Employment Terms:
- Full-time position to start.
- Non-negotiable October 1, 2026 start date.
