Lead Hand – Landscaping Crew
Job Summary
We are currently seeking a reliable, motivated, and experienced Lead Hand to supervise a small crew and ensure the efficient completion of landscaping projects and property maintenance services. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example, and is committed to delivering high-quality results and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small team in daily landscaping tasks, including: Lawn mowing and maintenance, spring and fall cleanups, garden bed maintenance and installation of sod, mulch, and pavers.
- Safely operate a truck and trailer to transport equipment and crew to job sites
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and skid steers
- Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company quality standards
- Communicate clearly with team members and provide direction on tasks and timelines
- Interact professionally with clients, addressing questions and ensuring satisfaction
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any maintenance or repair needs
- Assist with training and mentoring crew members as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of landscaping experience (leadership or supervisory experience considered an asset)
- Strong knowledge of landscaping practices, tools, and equipment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (experience driving with a trailer required)
- Experience operating zero-turn mowers and other landscaping equipment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
- Dependable, punctual, and highly organized with a strong work ethic

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 8 months
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
