LOCATION: Centennial Carstar Summerside, Summerside, PE
HOURS: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
WAGES: $48,000 - $100,000/year (possibility of flat rate) + benefits (negotiable based on experience)
THE PERFECT FIT:
Centennial is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our Carstar Summerside team. This unique role focuses on rental fleet maintenance, vehicle calibrations, and post-repair road tests and quality checks, supporting our collision operations and ensuring vehicles are safe, road-ready, and meet manufacturer standards.
You take pride in precision, consistency, and doing the job right the first time. With a strong mechanical background and an eye for quality control, you’ll play a key role in maintaining vehicle safety, performance, and customer satisfaction.
APPLICABLE SKILLS:
Valid Canadian driver’s license required
Licensed Red Seal Automotive Technician
PEI Motor Vehicle Inspection License is considered an asset
Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, diagnostics, and fault tracing
Experience with vehicle calibrations and post-repair inspections is an asset
Excellent attention to detail and quality control standards
Strong organizational skills and accurate record-keeping abilities
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger team
Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
JOB TASKS:
Rental Fleet Maintenance
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on rental and company fleet vehicles
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues to ensure reliability and safety
Complete inspections and required servicing to keep fleet vehicles road-ready
Vehicle Diagnostics & Calibrations
Perform diagnostics using manufacturer-approved tools and software
Complete vehicle system calibrations (ADAS and other systems, where applicable) following collision repairs
Verify that all systems function properly and meet manufacturer specifications
Post-Repair Road Tests & Quality Checks
Conduct thorough post-repair inspections and road tests
Identify and address any drivability, safety, or performance concerns
Ensure repairs meet Centennial and manufacturer quality standards before vehicle release
Documentation & Compliance
Accurately document inspections, repairs, calibrations, and test results
Follow manufacturer guidelines, safety standards, and company procedures
Team Collaboration & Ongoing Development
Work closely with body technicians, estimators, service advisors, and management
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technologies
