Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Site Carpenter to join our multi-family construction team. This is a hands-on role focused on rough and finish carpentry, quality workmanship, and supporting project schedules from framing through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rough and finish carpentry including framing, backing, blocking, formwork, and layout
- Complete wood and metal stud framing for walls, ceilings, and bulkheads
- Install doors, frames, hardware, trim, baseboards, casings, and architectural finishes
- Assist with concrete formwork, slab prep, and minor patching
- Complete deficiency, repair, and warranty work to quality standards
- Read and interpret construction drawings and site instructions
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Coordinate with Site Supervisors, project team members, and trades
- Assist with suite turnovers and preparation for inspections
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Safety & Quality
- Follow all company safety policies, site rules, and OH&S regulations
- Use required PPE at all times
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Identify and report unsafe conditions
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and protect completed work
Requirements
- 1–3 years of carpentry experience in residential or multi-family construction
- Experience in framing, finishing, and general carpentry
- Ability to read drawings, layouts, and a tape measure accurately
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- Physically capable of performing carpentry work in an active jobsite environment
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
- Knowledge of construction safety practices
- CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour
