TwinCon Enterprises Ltd. is currently seeking experienced Skilled Labourers to join our civil construction team in Kelowna, BC.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, Skilled Labourers provide essential support to civil construction operations throughout all phases of a project. The successful candidate will assist with earthworks, underground utility installation, road construction, grading, site servicing, and general construction activities while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Site Superintendents, Forepersons, Equipment Operators, and other crew members with daily construction activities.
- Perform general labour duties on civil construction projects, including earthworks, roadworks, site preparation, and underground utility installation.
- Assist with the installation of water, sewer, storm, and conduit systems.
- Perform hand excavation, trench preparation, pipe bedding, backfilling, and compaction activities.
- Support grading, site servicing, concrete, and earthworks operations as directed.
- Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Operate hand tools and small equipment such as compactors, tampers, cut-off saws, plate compactors, and other construction tools.
- Assist with traffic control and site safety measures as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite at all times.
- Work safely around heavy equipment, underground utilities, and active construction operations.
- Follow company safety policies, participate in toolbox meetings, and report hazards or incidents promptly.
- Complete other duties as assigned to support project success.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Have previous experience as a labourer in the civil construction industry.
- Have experience working around underground utilities, earthworks, road construction, or site servicing projects.
- Hold a valid Driver's Licence and have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Be punctual, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Be physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Be willing to work extended hours and overtime as required.
- Be comfortable using a mobile application for time tracking and company communications.
- Possess strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
