The role: *Please note - this is a 12-month contract opportunity*
The Data Scientist will be a pivotal member of the Enterprise Data and Analytics Team, responsible for developing, and implementing advanced analytics and AI models. Leverage statistical techniques, machine learning, and data mining. This role involves building robust data models, and leveraging a suite of Microsoft and other AI and data technologies to ensure data solutions, accessibility, and usability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
AI Modeling & Documentation
- Develop models to support AI and automation use cases across Meridian
- Develop GenAI and LLM models. Get direction from and technical guidance from more senior members of the team
- Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders
- Analyze large and complex, structured and unstructured data. Prepare AI-ready data models
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data science models, conduct peer reviews of AI and other predictive models
AI and Data Science research and development
- Research, code, develop and implement advanced analytics and AI models
- Research and stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and AI technologies
- Ensure AI models have proper documentation and model transparency and that they adhere to responsible AI framework
- Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, senior data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand and deliver on data requirements.
- Help define AI and automation use cases and requirements as well as assessing technical feasibility
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and data mining techniques, nice-to-have: cloud computing
- Proficiency in a software programming languages, e.g., Python
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL programming.
- Experience with PowerBI for data visualization and reporting.
- Familiarity with MS Fabric for data integration and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Experience in developing and managing ETL pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in data science and Microsoft technologies.
This role represents an existing vacancy. Internal candidates are being considered as part of our standard process.
Salary Range: CAD $68,800- $100,000
Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.
