The Opportunity – Technology Specialist - Quality Control
We are looking for a creative and innovative person with a great attitude to be a part of the Quality Control team. Your technical and communication skills will help to ensure all production batches and incoming raw materials meet specifications. In addition to this, you will help to provide technical solutions, build trust with clients and increase customer satisfaction through completion of key projects. Using your skills in problem solving, training, and analysis, the ideal candidate will understand how to balance technology and innovation with communication to grow sales around the world. Your portfolio includes colour matching, characterizations & database development, and customer service experience.
Primary Duties:
- Regularly inspect the quality of incoming raw material from suppliers and notify the appropriate department if any incoming raw materials don’t satisfy the standards for quality.
- Performs tests to approve all the finished products by confirming specifications and approving them in a timely manner.
- Monitoring the stability of the finished products.
- Communicating any required adjustments on the batch or the batch ticket to your manager.
- Calibrate and keep all measurement equipment/instruments operating by following operating instructions on regular basis.
- Support ISO, HR & Finance initiatives. Complete admin, reports and project management tasks timeously. Support continuous improvement initiatives as required.
- Support customers and products as required in a timeous manner.
- Participating in cross-functional projects that include Cost saving on raw materials and Improving QC efficiency projects.
- Will have the opportunity to work on colourant R&D projects.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree/diploma in chemistry or a related field
- Experience in colour characterization and matching an asset
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a laboratory environment
- Must pass visual colour test

- Ensure individuals are aware of all actual and potential health and safety hazards in their area of responsibility and that employees are advised of the existence of any potential or actual danger to their health or safety of which the supervisor is aware
Qualifications:
Minimum Required Education
- College Diploma (2 to 3 years): Chemical Laboratory Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, or Materials Science.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (4 years): Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
- Or 2–3 years of experience in colourants, dispersions, coatings, inks, or related fields (or relevant internships/co-ops for entry-level candidates)..

Pay: $52,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
