About the Job:
Vista Radio has an immediate opening for a full-time Morning Show Host, based in Fort St. John, BC.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Tour of duty: 5:00am – 1:00pm
- Live on-air show: 6:00am – 10:00am
What you’ll do
- Prepare and host a live, locally focused, and interactive morning show
- Deliver entertaining and informative content including news, weather, music, and relevant local topics
- Be an active part of the community — live, work, and represent the station in Fort St. John
- Participate in programming initiatives including promotions, contests, partnerships, and events
- Generate ideas and execution plans to grow the station’s brand across the region
- Make promotional appearances and support station events as required
- Ensure the show runs smoothly and all content meets CRTC requirements
- Work closely with the Program Director and station leadership to grow listenership on-air and online
- Voice track additional shifts for other dayparts or stations as required
- Voice commercials and promotional content for Vista Radio properties
- Create and maintain engaging social media content across platforms
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with internal teams
- Other duties as assigned
What you Bring
- On-air hosting experience in radio or broadcasting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working familiarity with Audacity
- Experience with G-Selector or similar music scheduling software is an asset
- Post-secondary broadcast training from an accredited institution is an asset
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
- Ability to connect with a local audience and thrive in a small market environment
- Friendly, professional presence when representing the station in the community
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Self-motivated, creative, and collaborative approach to work
