We are currently seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our construction team. This role is ideal for a motivated construction professional who takes ownership, leads by example, and is passionate about delivering exceptional quality and customer satisfaction.
Position Summary
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the successful construction of multiple residential homes from excavation through homeowner possession. Working closely with the Construction Manager, you will oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinate trades and suppliers, maintain quality and safety standards, and ensure every home is delivered on schedule and to the level of craftsmanship our clients expect.
As the primary on-site representative of Aspen Creek Designer Homes, you will play a critical role in delivering an exceptional construction experience while maintaining strong relationships with homeowners, trade partners, and the internal team.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Operations & Project Management
- Manage multiple residential construction projects from excavation through homeowner possession.
- Develop, maintain, and execute construction schedules to meet targeted completion dates.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, inspections, and material deliveries.
- Monitor project progress daily and proactively identify and resolve scheduling challenges.
- Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, safe, and professionally presented.
- Maintain construction schedules while minimizing delays and maximizing trade efficiency.
- Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce rework.
Quality Control
- Maintain Aspen Creek Designer Homes' quality standards throughout every phase of construction.
- Conduct regular site inspections before and after each trade completes their work.
- Verify workmanship meets company standards, architectural plans, and specifications.
- Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
- Complete pre-possession inspections to ensure homes are delivered with minimal deficiencies.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve construction quality and reduce warranty issues.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment on every job site.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
- Monitor compliance with Alberta Building Code, municipal requirements, and company standards.
- Complete required safety inspections and documentation.
- Address unsafe work practices immediately and maintain a culture of safety.
Trade Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Schedule and coordinate trades to maximize productivity and maintain project timelines.
- Hold trade partners accountable for workmanship, professionalism, and schedule commitments.
- Resolve construction issues efficiently while maintaining positive working relationships.
Project Administration & Communication
- Maintain accurate daily site logs and construction documentation.
- Provide regular project updates to the Construction Manager.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Estimating, Warranty, Accounting, and Client Liaison teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Identify project risks early and communicate solutions proactively.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience.
- Minimum 3 years of residential site supervision experience.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
- Valid Alberta driver's licence and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Knowledge of Alberta Building Code and residential construction regulations.
- Experience with CoConstruct or similar construction management software.
- Current First Aid certification.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation or equivalent safety training is considered an asset.
- Experience building custom or semi-custom homes.
