TIW Western Inc. is the leading manufacturer of custom-designed heat transfer products for the Oil & Gas and Utilities industries in Western Canada. We specialize in producing OTSGs, HRSGs, Fired Heaters, and Waste Heat Recovery solutions. Our products are engineered using a blend of proprietary in-house heat transfer design programs and industry-standard software. We are seeking a results-driven Purchaser / Buyer with experience in manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain operations to join our Calgary team. Reporting to the Materials Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting project procurement, vendor management, and materials coordination in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement and purchasing activities for projects and aftermarket orders
- Create and issue purchase orders (POs) for materials, equipment, and supplies
- Perform expediting and supplier follow-ups to ensure on-time delivery of long lead items
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to clarify specifications (valves, instruments, materials)
- Maintain accurate delivery schedules, vendor communications, and procurement records
- Resolve supplier issues related to pricing, delivery, and quality
- Coordinate logistics, shipping, and transportation of materials
- Support supply chain planning and inventory coordination
Required Skills and Experience
· Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (manufacturing or industrial environment preferred)
· Steel fabrication or Oil & Gas industry experience is a strong asset
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and bills of materials (BOMs)
· Strong knowledge of vendor management, order expediting, and logistics coordination
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills
· Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
· Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and procurement tools
