Our client, a well-established lumber products wholesaler located in Ottawa’s southeast end, is seeking a dependable and experienced Forklift Operator to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on work environment, is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, and has experience operating propane or diesel-powered forklifts.
Qualifications:
- Safety-focused and committed to maintaining a safe work environment
- Minimum of 1 year of forklift operating experience
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
Assets:
- Reliable transportation / own vehicle
- Bilingualism in English and French
- Knowledge of lumber products and building materials
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Operate a propane-powered forklift to safely move products and materials throughout the warehouse and yard
- Load and unload delivery trucks efficiently and accurately
- Pick, stage, and transport orders as required
- Utilize RF scanners for receiving inventory and order fulfillment
- Assist with inventory control and maintain accurate stock counts
- Conduct pre-operational forklift inspections and report any concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard environment
- Perform manual material handling and lift up to 50lbs as required
- Complete additional duties as assigned
