Mattarello strives to provide creative Italian food with above and beyond services. We are looking for an experienced and passionate line cook to join our BOH team. Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Your expertise in cooking and food preparation will play a vital role in our restaurant's success.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service times
- Participate in meal preparation for special events or catering services as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment preferred. Italian restaurant highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed
- A passion for the food industry and commitment to delivering exceptional service
