About the Opportunity
NorthStone Landscaping is looking to establish partnerships with experienced, reliable, licensed, and insured independent landscaping contractors throughout Burlington, Hamilton, Mississauga, and Oakville.
This is not an employment position. Contractors are not employees, representatives, or agents of NorthStone Landscaping. This opportunity is intended for individuals or businesses that independently provide landscaping services and are interested in receiving additional customer leads and project opportunities.
NorthStone's role is to generate landscaping leads and connect those potential customers with independent contractors.
How the Partnership Works
NorthStone Landscaping generates leads from homeowners looking for landscaping services.
When an appropriate opportunity becomes available, it may be offered to an independent contractor. Contractors have the flexibility to decide whether or not they want to accept an opportunity.
For qualifying NorthStone-referred projects that result in completed work:
Independent Contractor: 85% of applicable project revenue
NorthStone Landscaping: 15% referral/service fee
For example, if a referred project generates $2,000 in applicable revenue, the contractor's share would be $1,700, while NorthStone's 15% share would be $300, subject to the parties' written agreement.
There are no guaranteed leads, projects, hours, or minimum earnings.
Independent Contractor Relationship
This opportunity is strictly for independent contractors/businesses.
Contractors do not become employees of NorthStone Landscaping and should not represent themselves to customers as NorthStone employees, agents, or representatives.
Contractors operate their own independent businesses and are responsible for their own business operations, including their equipment, transportation, expenses, taxes, insurance, licensing/registrations, and other applicable business requirements.
The contractor is responsible for determining how they perform and complete projects they independently agree to undertake, subject to their agreement with the customer and applicable laws and safety requirements.
Requirements
We are looking to partner with contractors who:
- Have previous professional landscaping experience
- Are properly licensed/registered where required and independently insured
- Can provide proof of appropriate commercial liability insurance
- Have their own transportation, tools, and equipment
- Produce professional, high-quality landscaping work
- Are reliable, punctual, organized, and professional
- Have strong communication and customer-service skills
- Are comfortable communicating directly with homeowners
- Can independently assess and complete landscaping projects
- Are comfortable with the 85% contractor / 15% NorthStone revenue arrangement
- Understand that accepting a lead or project does not create an employment relationship with NorthStone
Experience with lawn and garden maintenance, spring/fall cleanups, planting, mulching, sod installation, hedge and shrub maintenance, garden projects, and general residential landscaping is an asset.
Flexibility
Contractors maintain the flexibility associated with operating their own independent business. There are no guaranteed or required working hours under this opportunity.
When NorthStone has a suitable opportunity, the contractor may decide whether the project is appropriate for their business.
Licensing & Insurance
Proof of appropriate insurance is required before receiving/performing projects through the partnership.
Contractors are responsible for maintaining all licences, registrations, commercial liability insurance, WSIB documentation where applicable, and other coverage or authorizations required for the services they provide.
What NorthStone Provides
NorthStone focuses on marketing, lead generation, and connecting homeowners with independent landscaping contractors.
NorthStone does not employ the contractor to perform the landscaping work. The contractor independently provides the landscaping services for projects they accept.
The purpose of the partnership is straightforward: NorthStone generates opportunities; independent contractors have the opportunity to take on additional landscaping projects.
