The Students’ Association of Red Deer Polytechnic exists as per the Post-Secondary Learning Act (see Student Affairs section 93: Students association) and plays an important role in student life at Red Deer Polytechnic. It advocates for and represents students, provides a myriad of important (and fun!) services and events, and is one of the largest employers of students on campus.
What you will be doing:
This position acts as a main cook in the Farside Grill. The Cook will assist the Kitchen Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Grill and other assignments determined by the Operations Director.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Kitchen Supervisor and other Cook to prepare and cook orders.
- Adhere to Food Safe standards and regulations.
- Measure and prepare ingredients for menu items.
- Understand and adhere to the organization's policies and procedures, cooking methods, standard portion sizes, kitchen rules, and quality standards.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept sanitized and orderly at all times.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of all food served.
- Set-up, rotate, and restock items as per established procedures.
- Assist with the cleaning, washing, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen.
- Provide support to the Kitchen Supervisor in completing monthly inventory report.
- Assist in the front line as needed.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Kitchen Supervisor or Operations Director at any time.

Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
