SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Working under the direction of the Payroll & Benefits Team Lead, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate, timely and confidential preparation and processing of payroll for the entities under the company’s management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process high-volume biweekly & semi-monthly payroll, using Work Force Now (WFN) and Work Force Manager for BC, QB & AB
- Verify payroll for each pay period to ensure transactions have been processed accurately
- Ensure processing of appropriate deductions, remittances, and reporting requirements
- Ensuring legislation, collective agreements, and company policies are met
- Prepare payroll reports and special manual payments
- Issue ROE’s, when required
- Review and reconcile monthly benefits
- Prepare payroll related remittances for union, WCB, CRA, pension, etc.
- Respond to payroll-related enquiries as required and provide support to the sites in processing payroll
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Sound knowledge of payroll employment standards and regulations
Proficiency in ADP WFN (Work Force Now) and Work Force Manager preferred
Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong organizational, problem solving, decision making, multitasking and communication skills
Ability to exercise a high level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information
Highly developed time management skills
Benefits administration experience preferred
High-volume payroll experience in a unionized environment is an asset

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Experience:
- ADP WorkForce Now payroll: 3 years (preferred)
- ADP WorkForce Manager: 3 years (preferred)
- unionized payroll processing: 2 years (preferred)
