Job Duties
▪ Clean and sanitize washrooms, showers, change rooms, staff rooms, offices, and high-touch surfaces
▪ Clean and maintain floors, turf, and fitness equipment
▪ Clean hallways, stairwells, public areas, railings, and windows, and respond quickly to spills
▪ Clean and sanitize school areas following established procedures
▪ Restock chemicals and materials, and replenish washroom supplies
▪ Maintain the property — salting, weeding, power-washing, and parking lot cleaning
▪ Empty indoor and outdoor garbage and recycling containers
▪ Operate and maintain equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, washers/dryers, and shower machines
▪ Document and report any missing or damaged equipment or structures
▪ Document and report any incidents, accidents, and hazards
▪ Assist the Arena Worker by moving hockey nets during flood times
▪ Help set up and tear down for key facility events
▪ Provide excellent customer service
▪ Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
▪ Minimum of 2 years of custodial, cleaning, or building-maintenance experience
▪ Reliability, initiative, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
▪ Available to work days, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
▪ Complete OHSA-required health & safety training before your first shift
▪ Complete Smart Serve certification
▪ English fluency and basic computer/phone skills
▪ A current Vulnerable Sector Check police clearance, given our work with youth and schools
▪ Adherence to our scent-free and no-smoking/vaping policy on Central Park Athletics property
Physical Requirements
▪ This role requires the physical ability to perform essential custodial duties, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs/ladders, and repetitive movements such as scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, and overhead reaching for the duration of an 8-hour shift. The role also requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds, along with the manual dexterity to safely operate industrial floor buffers and commercial vacuums. Duties also involve working with commercial cleaning chemicals, moving between indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions, and wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
