Building Design Technologist
At Parsus Engineering (Parsus), we are full-service integrated design consultants who design efficient, sustainable solutions for clients across Canada. Our team values collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement. We are currently seeking a Building Design Technologist to join us and contribute to our mission.
What You’ll Do
- Review technical drawings to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and bylaws.
- Prepare code reviews, compliance reports, and supporting documentation for projects at various stages.
- Advise project teams on code requirements and best practices.
- Stay current with changes to national and provincial building codes and communicate updates to the team.
- Liaise with municipal officials and regulatory authorities as required to support approvals and permitting.
Requirements
- Graduated from a three-year Architectural/ Engineering Technology program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Eligible for registration with The Certified Technicians & Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) or The Architectural and Building Technologists Association of Manitoba (ABTAM).
- Attention to detail with ability to identify compliance issues and propose practical solutions.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a passenger vehicle.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to function in a team-based environment.
- Aptitude for and general understanding of building construction methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada and relevant provincial codes is an asset.
- Holding a Building Inspection Certificate – Part 9 Certified Building Code Official (CBCO) designation is an asset.
- General construction experience is an asset.
