RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform setup and cleanup tasks on job site
- Load or unload construction materials
- Assist in building temporary structures
- Provide assistance to sub-trades
- Assist supervisors and colleagues when necessary
- Operate and care for construction equipment and tools
- Responsible for adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Participate in selective demolition by dismantling building components, removing structural elements, and preparing areas for reconstruction while maintaining safe work practices
- Clear construction debris, waste materials, and obstructions from work areas to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free site environment
- Assist in managing on‑site vehicle and pedestrian flow by implementing traffic control measures that ensure safety and minimize disruptions around active construction zones
- Monitor and support the operation of construction machinery such as lifts, compressors, and pumps to maintain consistent performance and workflow efficiency
- Assist in Schiedel Construction’s own forces tasks including but not limited to: Siding, metal roofing, steel erection, rough carpentry, doors and hardware, caulking, and membranes
- All other tasks as assigned.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is done on the job site and may include both interior and exterior work. General travel as required by Site Supervisor and Field Manager
- Must be available to work overtime, nights, or weekends as required to meet deadlines
- Certain projects may require overnight stay and travel during the work week for extended time periods
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ontario Drivers License – Own means of transportation to and from work
- Ability to read, write and speak English at a grade 12 level
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Physically fit, hardworking and self-motivated
- Workers must be punctual and reliable
- CSA approved safety boots
