Job Summary
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Solar Installer and Helper to join our team. We will provide training for less experienced applicants. Though experience is valued, it is a greater asset to be willing to learn new skill sets. There is constant problem solving and finding effecient ways to adapt. This role involves assisting with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar energy systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with electrical systems, and experience operating various types of heavy equipment. Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of solar panels and related equipment on residential and commercial sites
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized rigging equipment to assemble and secure solar components
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform site preparation tasks including trenching, grading, and foundation work as needed
- Support electrical connections under supervision, ensuring low voltage wiring meets safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining safety protocols
- Assist in the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials and equipment to job sites
- Follow all safety guidelines related to heavy equipment operation, electrical work, and working at heights
Experience
- Mechanical knowledge or background in construction or electrical fields is preferred
- Experience operating excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, or other heavy equipment is highly desirable
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, rigging techniques, welding, and low voltage electrical systems is a plus
- Prior experience working with electrical systems or renewable energy projects is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials safely is essential
