Aircraft Component Rewind Ltd. is a dedicated small family business specializing in repairing and rewinding aircraft electric motor components within a machine shop environment. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, precision, and supporting our team members in a collaborative setting.
We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our shop in Markham, Ontario.
This is an entry-level position that begins with general shop assistance, cleaning, preparation work, and basic hands-on tasks. For the right person, it offers the opportunity to receive training and gradually develop the specialized skills required to become an electrical rewind technician.
We are not simply looking for someone to perform basic labour. We are looking for someone who is naturally handy, takes pride in their work, follows instructions carefully, and is interested in learning a skilled trade.
Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with the repair and rewind of aircraft electrical components
- Clean, prepare, disassemble, and organize components and materials
- Perform basic mechanical and shop tasks using hand and power tools
- Follow written and verbal work instructions accurately
- Measure, inspect, and identify parts under technician supervision
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
- Assist with material preparation, masking, sanding, stripping, and other production work
- Learn additional repair and winding processes as skills and experience develop
Ideal Candidate
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with their hands
- Able to understand and follow detailed instructions
- Demonstrates common sense, attention to detail, and practical problem-solving skills
- Willing to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and improve
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work consistently without constant supervision
- Patient and capable of performing careful, repetitive work
- Interested in developing long-term technical skills
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and measuring equipment
- Able to keep tools, materials, and work areas organized
Previous shop, mechanical, electrical, automotive, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, or hands-on hobby experience is an asset. Formal rewind experience is not required. Training will be provided to a candidate who demonstrates the right attitude, aptitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to safely lift and move shop materials and components
- Comfortable working in an active industrial shop environment
- Good hand coordination and attention to small details
Growth Opportunity
A successful candidate may progress from general shop assistance into component preparation, winding, electrical repair, assembly, inspection, and other specialized rewind technician responsibilities.
The speed of progression will depend on the employee’s reliability, quality of work, ability to follow procedures, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
