Intermediate Interior Designer
Requirements
- Interior design degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 3-6 years experience at an interior design firm is required.
- Highly proficient in AutoCad, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Sketch-Up and Excel
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Able to work in fast paced environment
- The ideal candidate must be comfortable with coming into our office and completing meetings on site when required.
- Portfolio is required as part of your application
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3-6 years of experience working on full-scope interior design
- Undergraduate degree in interior design or architecture from a recognized program
- Hand-sketching is important in our process, so a level of confidence expressing ideas with pen and paper is a benefit.
- Ability to interact with clients and outside vendors with a high degree of comfort
- High level of detail and organization in work
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, while exercising good judgment and creative vision as well as supporting Junior staff
- Positive outlook, proactive, team-oriented
- NCIDQ qualification considered a plus
- LEED® qualification considered a plus
- A demonstratable skill of design thinking and problem solving. Able to propose solutions to challenging problems.
- Ability to understand and assist with the development of design concept presentations, architectural and construction drawings
- Empathy for the end-user and an understanding of what it takes to create a product that resonates with them
- A genuine belief in the value of collaboration - that working closely and sharing ideas with other designers and consultants ultimately results in a better product
Responsibilities
- Actively participates in project development from early conceptual stages through to final completion
- Prepares technical/CAD drawings
- Renders conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings
- Prepares FF&E and Construction schedules
- Prepares, corrects, and updates documents during all phases of work.
- Assists in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination as well as coordination with internal departments
- Communicates progress, timelines, meets deadlines, and adheres to an assigned budget.
- May be asked to maintain the sample library (real & digital) and keeps it up to date with current product info by liaising with suppliers
- Works closely with Project Managers and other internal team members to meet overall project objectives.
- Coordinating with trades and suppliers
- As a small firm, we share responsibilities, and all wear many hats. Being a team player and assisting in all aspects with a positive attitude is important. This may include things such as brand identity, assisting in the creation of templates, welcome packages, and graphic design elements for social media.
- Participate in the selection of furniture, fabrics and finishes with a skill for colour coordination and strong sense of balance
- Assist in the preparation of deliverables at all project phases

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $51,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
