This is a full time position (38 hours per week). Hours are very flexible and will include some evening and an occasional weekend. Travel within the region will be necessary.
LIFE is a nonprofit organization that presents people with an intellectual disability the opportunity to direct their best lives. The Resource Coordinator (RC) position provides resources and supports to individuals receiving funds through the In the Company of Friends (ICOF) service model. The RC assists individuals who manage their own daily lives with the help of family and friends. The Resource Coordinator will help each person in ICOF develop and maintain a support network, will focus on creating opportunities to develop strong relationships and fully support the concepts of assisteddecision making.

The successful candidate will have:
- A deep understanding of the principles of independent and community living A thorough understanding of the Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act (formally Vulnerable Persons’ Living with a Mental Disability Act) and its principles Strong proficiency to support people to develop support networks Ability to practice person centered approaches Excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing A commitment to the notion of self-management and self-determination Experience in facilitating, planning, and a vast knowledge of community resources, Knowledge and experience with people who live with intellectual disabilities Understanding of community development principles Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent computer skills Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed Access to a vehicle A minimum of Disability and Community Support 2 year diploma, or a Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation degree or combination of relevant education and experience.
Hourly Pay Range: $23.50 to $32.00
