Home Care Support Worker
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Support Workers to provide essential assistance to individuals in their own homes. This role involves delivering personalized care to seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or nursing home environments and possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for clients through attentive caregiving.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor health status
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support clients with mobility challenges through safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia care or hospice support
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures including medication administration and dementia care
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient-centered approach
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in senior care is advantageous
- Ability to handle cleaning tasks and maintain a hygienic environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
- Valid driver’s license preferred for travel between client locations (if applicable)
