Engine Overhaul Technician – Journeyman HET/Millwright – Red Deer

We are currently seeking an Engine Overhaul Technician to join our Red Deer team. This is a hands-on shop role focused on the teardown, inspection, diagnosis, and rebuild of natural gas and diesel engines. What you’ll be doing
- Perform complete teardown, inspection, and rebuild of natural gas and diesel engines
- Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs on engines and related equipment
- Clean, inspect, and refurbish engine components for reuse
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tools (CAT SIS, Cummins QuickServe, etc.)
- Complete accurate service reports, warranty claims, and quality documentation
- Maintain high workmanship and quality standards
- Support apprentices and junior technicians through mentorship and knowledge sharing
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe overhaul shop environment
What you bring
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in power generation, gas compression, or related industries
- Journeyperson certification (HET, Millwright, Automotive) preferred
- 3rd or 4th year apprentices may also be considered
- Strong experience with engine overhauls, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience with OEM diagnostic software and tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
