What will I be doing?
This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering and will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all rooms and common areas. The successful applicant must have 2 years of experience, have a strong mechanical ability and have skill in the use of basic hand and electric tools. The individual must be able to work in various conditions. The position is also required to lift heavy materials up to 40 pounds, climb, crawl, kneel and stoop. Areas of specialization that include: Assembling machinery and equipment, installing machinery and equipment, adjusting machinery and equipment, Troubleshooting, Operation of computer-controlled equipment, Leveling and aligning.
We are hiring 1 daytime HVAC Mechanic and 1 midnight/overnight HVAC Mechanic. Please specify your shift preference in your application.
Experience
- 1 years of experience working in a HVAC/engineering position
- Experience working in a hotel environment is an asset- not a requirement
Skills
- Strong mechanical ability
- Significant experience in plumbing and electrical
- Superb organizational skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English; written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
- Gas Filter Certificate is an asset
Requirements
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to complete a police backcheck to the hotel's satisfaction
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
