Foremost has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer, located at our facility in Calgary. As a member of the Calgary engineering department, you will have an opportunity to be a part of a team to take on challenging design projects for vehicles or drilling rigs destined for some of the harshest operating conditions on earth. The exposure to a variety of sophisticated mechanical, fluid power, electrical and hydraulic control systems is unsurpassed.
Key Responsibilities
- Design fabricated and machined products using 3D and 2D Cad to required specifications.
- Structural design to industry recognized standards.
- Powertrain design and driveline analysis
- Mobile Hydraulics system design
- Perform calculations that satisfy compliance and performance requirements.
- Detailed GD&T engineering and production documentation as needed.
- Provide support to internal stakeholders : sales, production and field service as needed.
- Troubleshooting and commissioning
- Project scheduling and estimating as required.
- Other duties within the scope of the position, as required.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation in Canada is required.
- P.Eng. designation with APEGA (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta) is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university program.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD), and FEA software experience is required.
- 4-7 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of hydraulics is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills
