This role is responsible for leading a high risk, high complexity Custody and Reporting functions, with a strong focus on operational transformation, client experience, and efficient execution. The Team Leader will play a critical role in modernizing processes, strengthening vendor oversight, and enabling scalable, compliant outcomes for both clients and the firm.
Key Responsibilities-
Own end to end performance of a high risk, complex Custody and Reporting functions, including delivery against key performance indicators, service level objectives, and strong risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.

Provide full people leadership for a diverse team of up to 10 associates, including coaching, development, performance management, engagement, and empowerment of frontline leaders.

Build deep functional expertise in Custody and Reporting processes, systems, and regulations, achieving functional proficiency within 6 months and expert level mastery within 12 months.

Lead operational transformation and modernization, identifying process gaps, improving workflows, and leveraging technology to drive efficiency, scalability, control, and improved end to end client experience in a high volume, deadline driven environment.

Strengthen vendor oversight and partnerships, ensuring external partners meet performance expectations, quality standards, and compliance requirements.

Identify, manage, and mitigate financial, client service, regulatory, and operational risk across highly complex, multi system processes.

Anticipate and resolve ambiguity, analyzing and implementing solutions for process, system, policy, and resource challenges not fully defined by existing procedures.

Partner cross functionally with Risk, Compliance, Technology, auditors, and upstream and downstream operations to enable aligned, enterprise outcomes.

Exercise sound independent judgment on complex, non routine decisions with material business, financial, and client impact, escalating appropriately to department leadership.

Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, using data and insights to inform decisions, prioritize work, and deliver consistent, scalable results.

Represent your team in firm wide initiatives and, as applicable, industry forums influencing operational best practices.

Canadian Securities licensing (preferred)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

3+ years of relevant work experience in an Operations environment with proven experience leading complex operational teams with significant financial, regulatory, and client service risk, preferably within account transfers, mutual funds, or similar brokerage operations.

Knowledge of CRA regulations preferred.

3+ years of people leadership experience.
Strong people leadership and talent development experience, with the ability to lead, coach, and develop diverse teams.
