Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stone Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for shaping, installing, and repairing stonework in a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and restoration sites. This role requires a strong understanding of masonry techniques, blueprint reading, and the use of both hand and power tools. The Stone Mason will play a vital role in creating durable, aesthetically pleasing structures that meet project specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Cut, shape, and install stone materials with precision using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels.
- Construct and repair stone structures including walls, facades, fireplaces, and decorative features.
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and plastering tasks to ensure high-quality results.
- Install rebar reinforcement for structural stability in masonry projects.
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely to facilitate large-scale or complex installations.
- Execute renovation and restoration work on existing stone structures to preserve integrity and appearance.
- Apply caulking, stucco, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and other related skills as needed.
- Read blueprints and schematics accurately to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, and welding teams to complete integrated projects.
- Maintain a clean worksite by organizing materials and adhering to safety protocols throughout all phases of construction.
Skills
- Proficiency in concrete forming, finishing, and rebar installation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of masonry principles combined with experience in hardscape construction.
- Ability to operate hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), and heavy equipment safely.
- Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting schematics for precise project execution.
- Experience with plastering, stucco application, tile laying, caulking, and trim carpentry.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes for material needs and project timelines.
- Knowledge of metal stud framing, welding techniques, roofing systems, and restoration practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on construction sites with diverse teams in various environments.
