Overview
We are expanding and seeking dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE's) to join our preschool and toddler teams. The ideal candidates will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. This role offers an opportunity to work in a public school setting, working with families and children and contributing positively to the developmental journey of our children. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, along with a genuine love for working with young children. We need staff who are committed to play based, child centred learning in an inclusive environment. Working as team player and excellent programming skills are essential. Most important is your ability to interact meaningfully with children, and to guide, support and enrich their daily learning and development in a healthy and joyful manner.
Duties
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programming that promotes learning and growth in our early childhood setting
- Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through engaging classroom experiences, and through meaningful and supportive interaction
- Collaborate with families, staff, and specialists to create individualized plans for children with special needs or disabilities
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's progress and daily activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom at all times
- Use effective communication skills to foster positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Utilize computer/ipad skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while demonstrating strong time management skills
- Lead by example in maintaining a professional and organized classroom environment
Requirements
- Valid registration as an RECE or equivalent early childhood education credential
- Proficiency in English
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices, including a thorough understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act, and ‘How Does Learning Happen'
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, families, and colleagues
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Computer operation skills for documentation, lesson planning, and communication tasks
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds
