Who are we?
The Drumheller & District Regional Landfill is owned and operated by the Drumheller and District Solid Waste Management Association. We are focused on providing solid waste management and recycling solutions for our member communities and those in surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing a positive environment for those working and visiting here.
Who are you?
As a first and central point of contact for a customer service-oriented organization, you are a courteous, helpful and enthusiastic individual. You have a passion to assist clients with their specific waste and recycling materials. You take pride in conducting yourself in a professional and confidential manner. You also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding organizational and time management skills and are able to self direct and self motivate.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen and identify waste materials for directing customers to correct disposal and storage areas
- Record keeping of waste and customer information into a computerized Scale Management System
- Collection of appropriate disposal fees; use of debit/credit machine
- Morning cash preparation and daily reconciliations
- Random Load checking
- Receptionist duties including answering telephones and responding to inquiries from the general public
- Filing and maintaining month end reports
- Communicating clearly with customers and staff
- General housekeeping within the scale house environment
- Providing an overall positive visit for all who attend the Landfill
Desired Experience and Education
- Minimum Grade 12 High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with computer systems
- The willingness and desire to learn
What are we offering?
A seasonal part-time or full-time position, with a starting wage of $19.50 per hour, working hours of Monday to Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm Saturdays (on a rotational basis) 9:30 am - 2:30 pm. Full-time hours are expected to average 40 hours/week.
Pay: $19.50 per hour
