Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Framer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, construction, and concrete forming, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately. This role is essential in building and restoring structures, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every project. Candidates should possess proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and welding as needed. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects including siding, concrete finishing, and restoration work.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute framing projects accurately
- Construct, install, and repair frameworks for buildings using wood, steel, or concrete forms
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely to assist in framing and concrete finishing tasks
- Perform concrete forming and finishing to ensure durable and high-quality structures
- Install siding, perform restoration work, and handle other carpentry-related tasks
- Utilize hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials
- Conduct welding operations when required for structural integrity
- Assist with heavy lifting to move materials safely around the job site
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or related fields with a focus on framing or concrete forming
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery operation
- Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques and restoration processes
- Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations on construction sites
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed
- Excellent teamwork skills with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Timber frame and siding experience is an asset.
