We are currently recruiting for all level Plumbing Apprentices, Journeypersons, and Forepersons for the Surrey Langley Skytrain Station project.
Apprentice Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Follow instructions as best as your abilities allow you
- Ask questions when you are not clear
- Contribute to site/company culture by completing job duties with a positive attitude
- Show up and be on time
- Come with a positive work attitude
Journeyperson Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Construct plumbing and mechanical systems
- Competent in interpreting mechanical drawings
- Conduct take-offs and manage materials
- Train and provide guidance to apprentices
- 4+ years of experience in plumbing (required)
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
- Holds a Red Seal Certification in Plumbing (required)
- Experienced with Mechanical, Architectural, and Structural drawings and specifications, with the capability to coordinate across various disciplines
- Skilled in performing take-offs, site design, and material management
- Familiarity with sub-trade scopes, scheduling, and potential conflicts
- Effective communication with colleagues, tradespeople, and sub-trades, maintaining a professional approach when necessary
Foreperson Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Serve as the liaison between our Project Management Team and our Field Team to ensure compliance of construction with drawings, specs, and code/quality standards
- Monitor work performance and efficiency of field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project plans and schedules are followed effectively and within budget
- Plan the mechanical components of a construction project and prepare a construction schedule in partnership with the Project Manager.
- Review the budget and the underlying estimate to understand the project, and plan ahead to avoid cost overruns and/or project delays
- Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in resolving these conflicts
- Anticipate problems or challenges, propose innovative solutions, and ensure solutions are consistent with project objectives
- Inspect and report on project progress, equipment and materials to Project
What’s in it for you:
- 1st term apprentice base hourly rate of $27.75 + 12% holiday pay and pension = $38.77 per hour total monetary package
- 8th term apprentice base hourly rate of $42.89 + 12% holiday pay and pension = $57.56 per hour total monetary package
- Journeyperson base hourly rate of $50.46+ 12% holiday pay and pension = $66.95 per hour total monetary package
- Foreperson base hourly rate of $58.03+ 12% holiday pay and pension = $75.42 per hour total monetary package
- Union paid schooling and a $500.00 bursary every year when you pass
- Union employees are eligible for pension plan vested from your first day of work
- Extended health care, dental, paramedical services, prescriptions (Benefits provided through Local 170)
